Chiropractic techniques fit into 3 basic models based on the three main body systems they address:

The skeletal system

The skeletal system

Skeletal or segmental centered Chiropractic techniques fix misplaced bones in your spine to improve your nerves and muscles.

The skeletal system

THE muscular SYSTEM

Work on your muscles first, creating tension or relaxation, before adjusting your spine. This sequence impacts your muscles, then your bones, and finally, your nerves.

the nervous system

the nervous system

Prioritizes the nervous system and its impact on a person’s overall health. These techniques begin with the nervous system, which then influences the muscles, and ultimately, the skeletal system.

Why choose a Nervous system focused approach?

The key to understanding how our bodies work starts with recognizing the role of the nervous system. Everything in our bodies is connected, and when something goes wrong, it often begins with a disruption in the nervous system.

This disruption can be caused by various stresses and traumas, like emotional, chemical, or physical factors, which accumulate over time and overwhelm the brain’s ability to keep our bodies in balance.

When the nervous system becomes unbalanced, it affects our muscles, organs, and cells, potentially leading to various health issues, even if they don’t show up right away. That’s why it makes sense to prioritize the nervous system – because it is the boss of our body’s operations.

When I shifted from focusing on fixing bones first to addressing the nervous system, I saw significant improvements in my patients’ overall well-being. They felt happier, moved better, slept better, and had more energy, highlighting the importance of taking care of the nervous system to improve overall health.

KST (Koren Specific Technique) developed by Tedd Koren D.C. and taught worldwide is the primary approach used by Dr. Komsky for analysis.

KST is a unique, breakthrough Chiropractic technique that is a new approach to patient care based on the most recent research in neuroscience. It is different from other Chiropractic Techniques, there is no twisting, turning, “cracking” or “popping” of the neck or spine. The goal is to give the patient individualized care tailored to their specific needs and lifestyle. We are correcting a serious form of nerve stress that causes distortions in your spine and body known as subluxations. The nerve stress and subluxations are often associated with loss of energy, pain, weakness and disease of all types.

KST uses a very precise analysis to obtain information quickly and accurately from the patient. Including locating areas of interference & blockages in the nervous system that pull the body out of balance. These blockages lock up and bind energy, so it is not available for the body to use.
The specific, safe, gentle, low force adjustment is performed with an FDA approved instrument called the Arthrostim. The adjustments introduce gentle stimulation/force/energy taps into your body where the nerve pressure and blockages are located. The specific frequency of the taps relaxes the nervous system, breaks up the blockages in the nervous system, releases energy and stimulates healing. This type of treatment helps the brain reorganize & normalize patterns in the nervous system.
Kind of like upgrading the software and rebooting your cell phone allowing it to work better and handle greater demands.

Patient response with this technique has been dramatic and usually changes in tension and posture are noticed on the first visit. Patients can be adjusted while standing, sitting, lying down and in a position of injury.

Utilizing KST daily since 2006 I have witnessed patient’s health and lives transform with this type of care. They become free to live the life they want. They feel better, move better, have more energy, sleep better and handle stress more effectively.

This technique is safe & gentle enough for everyone from infants through the elderly as well as patients with previous spinal surgery. I have seen consistent results helping people suffering with vertigo, headaches, difficulty sleeping and improving balance. I have seen KST help patients live more vibrant lifestyles who suffer from neurological conditions like Multiple Sclerosis and Cerebral Palsy. It is also phenomenal for TBI and concussions as well as post stroke care. I encourage you to come find out how it can help you.

Torque Release Technique (TRT)

Developed by Jay Holder D. C.

Is a technique that influences the chemical balance in the brain and reduces the stress / torque on the spinal cord itself. It is a gentle, safe approach able to be performed on any patient of any age group and with patients where other traditional 1st generation biomechanical techniques would be contraindicated.

Torque Release Technique® embraces The Brain Reward Cascade Model. This is where the neurotransmitters, if the brain is functioning properly, are released appropriately resulting in a feeling of well-being and reduction of stress in the body. It was developed due to the burden of all first century chiropractic techniques being mechanistic and linear, which is structurally based.

Torque Release Technique® (TRT) was developed out of the first state of well-being/addiction population research study in chiropractic history. TRT is a non-linear, vitalistic & tonal model Chiropractic approach. Utilizing the Integrator™, a handheld adjusting instrument, TRT is the first technique of chiropractic’s second century.

The Integrator™, Chiropractic’s only Toggle Recoil Instrument, a torque and recoil release adjusting instrument which combines the best of existing chiropractic techniques and principles, quantum physics and the body/mind connection. Creating the first integrated chiropractic system for the second century of chiropractic.

I studied directly with Dr. Holder and received my Advanced Proficiency Certification in December 2007.

I have had great results utilizing this approach with children, vertigo, whiplash injuries and migraine headaches to mention a few examples since I began incorporating in my patient care protocols since 2007. I believe this approach, as well as other tonal, vitalistic and holistic techniques are going to be part of the healthcare solution and future.

Massage

Massage therapy performed by a licensed massage therapist is a hands-on approach to reduce mental and physical fatigue and stress; alleviate chronic muscle tension and pain; improve circulation; increase joint flexibility; promote faster healing of injured muscle and soft tissue; improve posture; and reduce blood pressure. The work is performed on the soft tissue of the body, i.e. muscle, ligaments and tendons.

When you receive massage therapy in our office, it is a therapeutic massage. The therapy is performed in a private room in our separate Massage center. It is performed in a  soothing environment and can include aromatherapy. Depending upon the patient, a massage therapist may use different techniques to achieve the desired results.

Immediately after receiving a massage, it is best not to exert yourself physically or enter into a stressful environment, because that essentially defeats the whole purpose of the therapy. Please remember to allow sufficient time for your body to reap the full benefits.

It is very important that you discuss any health problems you are experiencing and medications you are taking with the massage therapist. If you are not our patient but under a doctor’s care, it is strongly advised that you consult with your doctor and ask for written recommendation for massage before you begin massage therapy.
